ADB/FMO Transition Finance Study

As the Gender Finance Expert for this project, I am collaborating with a team to assess the state of transition finance in India and Vietnam. Our work contributes to the development of a practical guide that will help financial institutions in both countries provide transition finance to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) through a gender lens. This initiative is being led by Asia Clean Energy Partners (ACE-P).

Zayed Foundation 2026 Sustainability Prize

As the Energy Due Diligence Expert for the 2026 Zayed Sustainability Prize, I evaluated the financial, operational, and technological claims of energy-related applications, assessing them against market trends, best practices, and the technical and commercial viability of the proposed solutions. The Zayed Sustainability Prize, established in 2008, is a prestigious global award that recognizes innovative, impactful, and inspirational sustainable solutions across the fields of Health, Food, Energy, Water, and Climate Action, as well as honoring Global High School student teams. Its mission is to advance sustainable development and humanitarian progress worldwide.

USAID Mongolia Energy Governance Activity

As Senior Gender Adviser on this Abt Global–implemented project, I partnered with the Mongolian Ministry of Energy to finalize and deliver the sectoral gender action plan. I supported technical training in emerging areas (climate, renewable energy, and energy efficiency) to upskill Mongolia’s workforce, with a focus on women and youth, in preparation for the country’s energy transition. I led the design of the Energy Sector Women’s Leadership Initiative and collaborated with a local NGO to adapt and deliver it to junior and mid-level women professionals. I also co-designed training to promote male allyship in the energy sector and collaborated with stakeholders to provide training on preventing gender-based violence and harassment. Additionally, my local counterpart and I convened events that supported the establishment of a national women’s energy network in Mongolia.

Projects

USAID Health Electrification and Telecommunications Alliance

For the USAID Health Electrification and Telecommunications Alliance (HETA), implemented by Abt Global, I collaborated with diverse stakeholders to expand renewable energy and digital connectivity, strengthening health service delivery in rural areas of Sub-Saharan Africa. I developed a practical toolkit to help health facility electrification (HFE) stakeholders integrate an equity lens across all project stages: energy demand analysis, planning and system design, procurement and installation, operations and maintenance, productive uses of energy, and education and awareness.

USAID Nigeria Power Sector Program

As Senior Engagement Manager and Senior GESI Adviser on this Deloitte-led program, I developed an end-to-end mapping of gender mainstreaming opportunities for Nigerian solar home system (SHS) companies across the value chain and provided tailored support to three SHS companies on integrating gender considerations into their operations. I also delivered recommendations to advance financial inclusion and support women entrepreneurs in expanding their participation in the supply chain. In addition, I provided technical assistance to the Nigeria Rural Electrification Agency on gender mainstreaming within rural electricity users’ cooperatives.

USAID West Africa Energy Program

As Senior GESI Adviser on this Deloitte-led program, I led the development of the gender strategy and integration framework, and guided the design and implementation of interventions in leadership development, technical training and mentoring, finance, communications, and organizational policies and human resources. I collaborated with partners such as Women in Energy Ghana, the West African Power Pool, and MIDA to advance these initiatives. I promoted STEM career pathways for girls in Africa through learning events at secondary schools across West Africa and championed male allyship in the energy sector through targeted awareness-raising activities. I also strengthened the capacity of electric power utilities to mainstream gender, developed the program’s gender targets, and worked with the WAEP MEL team to track GESI outputs and outcomes.
